Allen R Devericks Machias

Allen R Devericks, 48, of Machias, owner of newly opened local business “Al’s Cycle Services”, a lifelong dream of his, and sergeant of Downeast Correctional Facility for 20 years, passed away unexpectedly on August 16, 2017. Allen was a man of many talents with a thirst for adventure. Always busy, never idle, he was a skilled handyman, a loving father, and an inspiration and role model to many. A double black belt with a passion for Harley Davidson motorcycles and studying as he was never afraid to tackle anything A challenge was no problem to him; He could, (and did) do anything he set his mind to. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, fixing and riding bikes, guns, spending time with his family and dogs, pulling pranks, and experiencing all that life had to offer. He will forever be remembered for his strength, his knowledge, his sense of humor, and his vibrant personality. He will be sadly missed by his widely spread family and many friends, and customers. He is survived by his parents, Priscilla and Bob Devericks, beloved fiancee, Kathy Chandler, and her two sons. Ben and Sam Dyer, his two daughters, Brandi Devericks and Devan Caiauskas, Brandon Gonzalez, who he considered a son, and his wife, Courtney, his uncle and best friend, Jim StAmand and his girlfriend Lynne Dube, dear friend Brice Smith, his two brothers Raymond and Homer Devericks and their extended families, as well as his many cherished cousins, nieces, and nephews, and his Downeast Correctional family. He also leaves behind his 2 special dogs, Maverick and Taz, and a foul-mouthed parrot, Paulie. He is predeceased by his “Aunt Gerry”, friends, Jay Tessier and John Reynolds, as well as his canine companion, Lucy.
