Veterans Day, all year long

by  Ruth Moore

As an honorably discharged veteran, I will have seen 30 years of Veterans Days come and go this year, and one thought has always been in the back of my mind — why do we need a special day to remember our military service and sacrifices for our country? Shouldn’t our service be celebrated every day for the freedoms and liberties that our country’s citizens enjoy?
